Atavist Books window display on Flickr.
Lucky me was given the opportunity to create a window display for the neatest bookstore in Brisbane, Atavist Books. I wanted to work with collage but in a more simplified way, and as I have become more interested in quilts and their patterns I thought it would be fun to merge the two in a very happy, childlike way.
Images of knitted animals and other fun things were taken from my personal collection of kid’s craft books dated from the 60s and 70s. Joining them are prints of my own collage work, featuring children, animals and nature.
